The “pearl” of Brandenburg is only 30km away . southwest of Berlin and represents one of the most beautiful cultural countries in Germany. During a period of more than 300 years , the best artists under the order of the sovereigns of the Hohenzollern dynasty beautified their residences with wonderful parks and gardens. Because of that, Potsdam was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1990 .

Potsdam is today a city with about 150,000 inhabitants and the capital of the Federal State of Brandenburg . The best known of the city is the private refuge of Federico II; "Sanssouci" a summer palace, built in 1745 on a vineyard. The palace is a small jewel of the Rococo period as well as the palace destined for its guests " The New Chambers " which is located just to the west side of Sanssouci.

Another curiosity worth seeing and that follows the same Italian style is a hacienda, about 8 minutes walk from the main entrance of Sanssouci: The Krongut Bornstedt , built between 1799-1867, was inhabited and administered by the heir princes Frederick William of Prussia and his wife, Princess Victoria , eldest daughter of Queen Victoria of England and Ireland .
