If you want to know one of the last remaining virgin islands in the Caribbean , your destination for this vacation is: Bonaire . Bonaire is a paradise for those who like to practice their diving and snorkeling. This island does not attract large crowds like its neighbor Aruba , where you can even spend a few evenings in one of its small casinos. Instead, Bonaire’s turquoise waters invite travelers to discover colorful clouds of tropical fish .

It’s funny, flamingos almost outnumber the island’s human population. There are approximately 200 different species of birds (there are not only flamingos) among which you can observe: pelicans, parrots, parakeets, herons, hummingbirds, etc. So remember to bring some good binoculars. The people of Buenos Aires jealously protect their precious surroundings. Although they eagerly seek tourism to come to their beautiful island, they are not interested in creating another Aruba.

Unlike some islands in the area, Bonaire is not only surrounded by coral reefs, you can also discover the top of an underwater mountain that is around it. The island is located off the coast of Latin America , just 81 kilometers (50 miles) north of Venezuela. The capital is Kralendijk .
