Discover the Victoria Falls, in Africa

Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls are located on the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe . Above them is the Victoria Falls Bridge , a beautiful steel arch built in 1905. They measure about 1,700 meters wide and 108 meters high and are an extraordinary sight to behold thanks to the narrow abyss into which the water falls. It is part of two National Parks, the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and the Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe. In addition, they have been declared a World Heritage Site and cover an area of almost 9,000 hectares.

The Falls are formed by the plummet of a vertical between 60 and 120 meters high. The depth of the chasm, called the First Gorge , is between 80 and 108 meters depending on whether it is in the central or western part. The only exit from this chasm is a space 110 meters wide through which the entire volume of the river falls into the gorges of the waterfall, showing an authentic spectacle worth seeing.

Between September and December and thanks to the low water levels, you can swim safely since at the edge of the falls an impressive natural pool is formed that can be accessed through Livingston Island , which is called Devil’s Pool , the Devil’s Pool . It is also a wonderful attraction although you have to enjoy it with caution since if you do it out of season you can be swept away by the waterfall. The floods of the river are so fast that in just a couple of minutes the flow can rise up to one meter.
