The Les Arcs ski resort can prove to be an excellent rival to other much better known resorts, due to its variety of slopes and its reputation as avant-garde, innovative and pioneer in snow sports.
The link with La Plagne (another excellent area), offers athletes some of the best skiing in the world. The areas are truly vast. As a curious fact, it is good that you know that the complex is one of the easiest to reach from the center of London , since it has a direct Eurostar train service.
The journey is only eight hours. Once the train journey has been completed, you can take the funicular that will take you to Arc 1600 from the train station in seven minutes, so getting to the slopes is very easy. Les Arcs has been formed with a series of ‘ villages ‘ called Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000 (figures refer to altitude).
All of them were built between 1950 and 1960 and as a result of the arrival of the 70s some transformed their architecture into works of true design. Arc 1950 was one of the last to be developed. Arc 1800 is the area that you should visit if you want to discover the nightlife of the complex, the other three bases are quieter.
