It might seem strange for a chef to leave the restaurant that earned him a Michelin star. But Paul Kitching has decided to take the plunge and recently, together with a new partner, he has opened a restaurant in a Georgian house in a residential block of New Town in Edinburgh . The new restaurant has a curious name: 21212 . It was inaugurated in May and it has already become one of the hottest and most fashionable spots in the city. So if you are going to visit the city, do not hesitate to go and taste one of the magnificent dishes of the great chef.

The restaurant has that curious name based on the originality of its menus: there are five dishes to choose from between two first, one second, two third, and so on. Kitching, who is said to be confident of achieving two Michelin stars, does not have soups or dishes that are too " coarse " on his menu. The dishes present an exquisite and careful preparation and staging. You can choose between fish, different types of couscous, dried zucchini, etc.

Something that has also attracted a lot of attention is the decoration of the restaurant. As you enter you will feel transported to the old banquets of the time but with the most modern touches. Gold brocades, dressers, tapestries, fine curtains … without a doubt the most modern part is the kitchen , which is completely open.

The kitchen has a glass wall painted in shapes similar to MirĂł’s more colorful paintings. The original marble staircase will take you to the bedroom area . The four bedrooms reflect the atmosphere below: floral fabrics and brocades on the walls, mahogany floors, flat-screen TVs, and huge, highly modern bathrooms.
