Shopping in Manila

Many tourists who decide to travel to Asia think that they will only be able to do good shopping in Bangkok and Hong Kong, so they will be pleasantly surprised when they find out that they are wrong.

Manila is the commercial hub capital of Asia (and probably the world). Almost every four metro stops has access to a shopping center. Shops usually close at 9:00 PM, but during the holidays, shopping centers usually close between 10:00 PM and 12:00 AM.

The essentials

The impressive Mall of Asia , located on Roxas Boulevard, defies any shopping spree you can imagine anywhere else in the world. One day it will probably be insufficient to visit all your stores. It has an IMAX theater, a science museum and a building dedicated exclusively to entertainment (with exclusive rooms where visitors can rent huge television screens and play with the Xbox).

Along the MRT3 route, travelers can access at least eight shopping centers. Some of the best on this route are: Glorietta (Makati), Megamall (Mandaluyong City) and Trinoma (Quezon City). MRT3 ends at Trinoma Mall. Don’t forget to visit Cyberzone , a large shopping center dedicated entirely to computer stores where you can find gadgets you have never seen before.

In Tiendesitas you can find a lot of local crafts, souvenirs and furniture. From there, head to Greenhills Shopping Center, where you can find all kinds of bargains. Greenhills combines the luxury shopping market with the most affordable brands, so it is ideal for all types of tourists.
