Livigno is located in the Italian province of Lombardy on the northern border of the Dolomites mountains. You will easily locate this town south of the Alps . Livigno, has gone from being a small isolated town to becoming one of the most important ski resorts in the world. Its success is based on its impressive slopes of exceptional height and the spas found in the area, which have become some of the most important in Europe.

The town is quite small but due to its difficult access and the coming and going of so many travelers it has become a tax haven. The area is characterized by the quality of its snow. More than 50 years ago, the entire area was closed due to the large amount of snow that fell, so they had to build a large elevator that would allow them to leave the area if the same thing happened again. In 1960 the first hotel was inaugurated and since then the area has not stopped growing. Today there are more than 100 hotels and 115 kilometers (66 miles) of slopes. Facts about mountains:
