Go preparing your bags with peace of mind since, a few days ago, Richard Branson, explained that Virgin Galactic is ready to start offering commercial trips to space in 18 months. The SpaceShipTwo project is already conducting test flights and the results appear to have been excellent.
Branson , made this interesting news public in Kuala Lumpur, where he also confirmed that the prices of the trips will start from 200,000 dollars. Virgin Galactic, which aims to become the first commercial company to promote space tourism, has already raised $ 45 million in deposits paid by more than 330 intrepid travelers who have reserved their seats aboard the "plane" that will take them into space. The plane has a capacity for a total of six people.
As if this were not enough, Branson is also already talking about the construction of hotels in space, where the wealthiest tourists can rest after a long flight from the earth to the moon. The magnate has also assured that he is thinking about launching small satellites for the benefit of schools and universities. The SpaceShipTwo ship will launch into space with the help of the White Knight Two ( WK2 ) mothership.
Once in suborbital space , SpaceShipTwo passengers will be able to see the earth from the small portholes next to their seats. Later, they can unfasten their seat belts and float in zero gravity. Branson has a 20% Malaysian equity interest in the project.
