Sports and activities to do in Chile

Chile , located in South America, has a great variety of terrain, places and environments where you can practice a wide list of activities and sports that will surely make your trip much more interesting.

Hiking : Chile offers spectacular and long walks that go from the north of the Atacama desert, passing through the streets of Valparaíso and reaching the peaks of the Lake District. The signage in general is not very good, so be prepared in case you get lost.

Bicycle : with your bicycle you can travel a lot of places such as the Carretera Austral that goes from Puerto Montt to the south of Cochrane.

Horses : long and beautiful trips through the Andes mountains are organized from Santiago, although horseback riding through the Chiloé and Valle Hurtado areas are also very popular.

Skiing : in the south there are a lot of good slopes, although the facilities can be a bit outdated. Pucón, Antillanca and Termas de Chillán are the largest tourist centers.

Natural Parks : seeing the great variety of animals that inhabit Chile will surely amaze you: llamas, foxes, pumas, deer, flamingos, etc. The marine life is also very rich and you will be able to discover colonies of seals, sea lions and penguins all along the coast.

Rafting : to the south of Santiago there are some excellent river areas to practice this sport.

Canoeing : in the south of Chiloé and its surroundings (through the fjords of the Gulf of Ancud ) you will find the best routes.

Diving : you can practice in the north, but the best destination of all to practice diving is Easter Island.
