On February 17, the new Lleida-Alguaire airport, as it is officially known, was inaugurated. Located in the municipality of Alguaire, close to the city of Lleida , this facility will boost tourism in the area thanks to its connections to Paris , Frankfurt and Milan . Likewise, mountain and snow tourism will also benefit from the proximity of the Pyrenees to the airport.

As regards access , currently it can be done through the N-230 , taking the Alguaire exit and from the city of Lleida, through a line of coaches whose frequency is synchronized with the arrivals and departures of flights. (40 minutes). In addition, there is a taxi rank at the same airport.

Soon, it will also be accessible by the new A-14 highway, which, in turn, will connect the A-2 highway with Vielha and France . On the other hand, a railway line connecting Lleida with the airport is under study.

The Lleida-Alguaire facilities have a passenger terminal and a control tower, allowing it to host up to two operations every hour. Regarding the design of its architecture, the integration into the environment has been perfectly taken care of, using plants and woods of greenish tones.

So far, the companies that operate at the airport, Ryanair and Vueling , have two weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca and Paris . In April , the destinations will be expanded with two weekly flights to Frankfurt and Milan , coinciding with the start of the summer season.

According to calculations, during this first year an influx of 50,000 passengers is expected and it is estimated that, in the next ten years, this figure will increase to 395,000 passengers .
