The Teide National Park, wonderful

teide
The Teide National Park , in Tenerife , was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is an authentic example of vegetation, animal life and, above all, landscape. Mount Teide is the most representative symbol of the Canary Islands and, above all, of the island of Tenerife, where you can see it from many corners from either side. It is the highest peak in Spain and, as you go up by car, you see both the island of Tenerife itself and the other islands, achieving one of the most beautiful landscapes you can see in the Canary Islands.

To get to the Park you don’t need anything special, but if you want to climb Mount Teide you have to request a permit, they always give you one, but you have to request it because that is how they control the number of people who climb each day. The walk to reach the crater is impressive, and if you plan to do it you should prepare physically since as you gain height you may lack a little oxygen, especially if you do not usually walk or smoke.

If you are not going to go up, nothing happens, you have a lot to see in the surroundings. Cycling routes, hiking or just a walk to fill your memory card with a lot of photos. A couple of kilometers before arriving there is a restaurant where you can stop to eat with the entire island of Tenerife at your feet. Of course, if you are going to eat in Tenerife there are a couple of things that you cannot miss, such as the wrinkled potatoes with mojo (be careful, they are addictive!) Or the almogrote , which is like a typical spread of the island of La Gomera and which is made from various fermented cheeses. Delicious with toast. The best wines in Tenerife are those from DO Tacoronte-Acentejo. All good looking, right? Well imagine it in the middle of the mountain and with spectacular views.
