Manhattan is the most important district of the five that make up New York City, it is also the most famous and where the main places of interest are for all those who visit the city. Also known as the "Island of the hills", it is a small island about 22 kilometers long between the Hudson and the East rivers (which take you to the Statue of Liberty) and has neighborhoods of great cultural and architectural diversity. . Manhattan connects with several bridges and tunnels with the other boroughs of New York. The most amazing thing is Central Park , which connects with many points in the city.

Finding yourself in Manhattan is very easy since all the avenues cross it from top to bottom. In the east you have 1st Avenue and in the west 12th, all the streets grow as you go north. In the north of 14th street it is very easy to find your way around since it is like a chess board, but in the south of that same street it is more difficult because the streets are no longer perpendicular and instead of numbers they have names. Still, it is very simple so you will not have a problem.

Manhattan is divided into three sectors: Downtown, Midtown, and Uptown. Downtown is the financial heart of the city , the business hub of the island and where you will see important buildings such as the New York Stock Exchange. It is a spectacular area for shopping and is also known as Lower Manhattan. Here you will find neighborhoods as important as Chinatown, Greenwich Village, Soho, Lower East Side or Tribeca.

In Midtown is the most touristic of Manhattan since there you can visit the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Fifth Avenue or Broadway, essential places to visit if you are going to travel to New York. Among the most important neighborhoods in the district are Hell’s Kitchen, Times Square, Sutton Area, Chelsea or Union Square. Finally, in Uptown you will find almost all the museums , at least the most famous ones, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim or the Whitney Museum. Its neighborhoods include Spanish Harlem, the Upper West Side, and the Upper East Side.
