Yosemite National Park is one of the best-known green areas in the world. It is located about 350 kilometers from San Francisco in the United States and is formed by the well-known Sierra Nevada with its huge rocks that make it an ideal destination for the 3 million tourists that, approximately, it receives per year.
Yosemite has been welcoming hikers since 1890. It has a total of 800 miles of trails and heights of up to 13,000 feet can be climbed. El Valle offers a free bus service. You will find several shops and you can rent bicycles. In winter you can enjoy its ice rink. Cyclists can enjoy seven miles of hard riding. For climbers it is a paradise. They will find a great selection of huge rocks to climb up through Tuolumne Meadows . Downhill and cross-country skiing also have a place during the winter months.
Be careful with your accommodation , as if you don’t book well in advance you won’t be able to stay in Yosemite Valley. You will find 3 very popular campsites as they are very limited and the area is perfect to spend a few days. You will find other campsites in the area, but these are already higher, which means that the nights are much colder and therefore more uncomfortable.
The Valley area, on weekends, becomes a coming and going of cars. In the upper area you must be careful, since there is no good signposting to go up and the roads are usually very narrow (one way) so access is difficult. The good thing about this part (high areas) is that if you are looking for tranquility it is the ideal place to find it.
