Detroit is the largest city in the state of Michigan , in the United States and has at its feet the river that bears the same name, which is the reason that the city is called that. It is one of the most important cities in the world in the automotive sector and also in terms of popular music, something that earned it the nickname of Motor City or Rock City. The city has almost a million inhabitants although its metropolitan area is close to four and a half million.

Winters are usually quite cold and it is common to reach sub-zero temperatures, and in summer it is usually around 30º Celsius. If you go between November and April it is very likely that you will see snow. The Detroit tourism office offers multiple activities to visitors, such as several museums, including the Detroit Institute of Arts , the Detroit Historical Museum or the Science Center, all located around Wayne State University.

If you like sports, you have to choose from among the most followed throughout the country. You can see the legendary baseball team the Detroit Tigers , the Pistons in basketball, the Lions in American football or the Red Wings in hokey ice. You can also visit the Detroit Zoo, where you will find many kilometers full of animals in their natural habitat, the Cranbrook House and Gardens, Hart Plaza (the nerve center of all activity in the city) or Campus Martius Park, a spectacular park in the heart of the city where you can spend the day on a picnic or taking a walk.

In addition, at Campus Martius Park you can enjoy the free Wi-Fi network, so you will see many people with their laptops hooked up to the network. It is open 24 hours a day, so even at the end of a day full of excursions or visits to different parts of the city, it is a very good option to relax and be in contact with the rest of the world.
