Visit the Island of Rhodes

Visit-the-Island-of-Rhodes
The Island of Rhodes is one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Greece, with a lot of historical and cultural content, such as the famous Colossus of Rhodes , an imposing and gigantic statue of the god Helios that is in the port of Rhodes and that is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World . Rhodes is the largest island in the Dodecanese archipelago and receives thousands of tourists every year, who visit the entire island and not just the points of greatest interest.

But not only the Colossus lives Rhodes, the city itself is a spectacular medieval place surrounded by walls and that is a World Heritage Site . As soon as you arrive at the port of Rodas you will see the Puerta de la Marina , a place that has two impressive towers and the shield of the Order of the Knights in the middle (they were the ones who raised the walls in the 13th and 14th centuries. It is very beautiful, it has a lot of alleys with incredible charm, at least for me I really like cities with a medieval atmosphere.

Squares, cobbled streets, fountains, churches, defensive towers, arches and even a mosque. The old town of Rhodes has everything, an incredible heritage legacy, and that is not everything is to see the beaches of Rhodes . The most tourists are always in Hippocrates Square and Socrates Street, almost all the places are named after famous Greeks. The square is very sunny and all the island’s tourist streets converge there, there are bars, restaurants and shops for you to take with you.

What you do have to be clear about is that Rhodes is a slightly expensive city, since there are many tourists who visit it and that means that they have higher prices. Both the things you buy and the food will be more expensive than in other places, but without a doubt the beauty of the city and the entire island is worth paying a little more.
