Today I would like to recommend a visit to Blenheim Palace , which is 5 kilometers from Oxford , in England.
Located opposite a romantic park, the palace was a gift from Queen Anne to the Duke of Marlborough as a reward for military victories against France, especially the Battle of Blenheim. It is an eclectic style palace, undoubtedly the most characteristic of its architecture, and it is the perfect example of what a royal residence was like in the 18th century. In 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site thanks to its architectural importance and the landscape in which it is integrated.
The main interest of this palace is the authenticity of its character, purely national and in which the triumphs of the English armies over the French are highlighted, something that undoubtedly marked the history of that country. Depending on how much or little you like architecture and landscape, you can see it in an hour or spend all day since there are several routes so as not to lose the most interesting detail and that you can choose what you most want to discover.
Inside you can highlight the State Rooms , in which you can see a wide variety of portraits, tapestries, porcelain, furniture and decorative elements of that time. There is an exhibition on Winston Churchill, who was born in that castle and whose history is reviewed in the room in which he came into the world.
