Festivals in the world

Everyone celebrates situations or actions in the past that sometimes we can be quite strange. In many parts of the world, any excuse is good to hold a celebration, however rare it may seem. Today we are going to tell you about some of those strange festivals that exist around the world.

We are going to start in Europe , where the cultures are very old and, in particular, in England. The Gloucester-Rolling Festival is held here . In this festival logic defies reason. Participants in this festival enjoy a dizzying race down a hill rolling a 7.8-pound cheese. The incline of Cooper’s Hill is so steep that an ambulance is always stationed at the bottom to immediately transport the wounded.

We go to another part of the world and we arrive in Japan . Japan proudly hosts the Naked Festival , which takes place in the dead of winter. Perhaps as a test of mettle, men dressed only in loincloths gather in front of a Naka-Saidaji temple at midnight, ready to compete for a "year of happiness." It is a fairly aggressive contest-festival where the contestants must face each other and thus avoid freezes.

In the south of the Philippines, we find the Pulilan Carabao Festival is a tribute to San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of the place. This celebration in mid-May makes the penitents the animals in this case of the water buffalo, known as carabaos. They kneel in front of the church. These buffalo are trained throughout the year.
