One of the major tourist attractions that Australia has is its National Museum, which is in Canberra and which offers you a spectacular and broad vision of the country’s history. In it you can discover all the details of the colonization of this territory and all the stages and cultures that have lived there over the years. In the years 2005 and 2006 it was named the biggest tourist attraction in Australia.

The National Museum of Australia is on the Acton Peninsula, next to the beautiful Lake Buerley Griffin. In it you can see various exhibitions, where those that show the 50,000 years of indigenous heritage or various curiosities about the “bushrangers”, who were the fugitive pioneers of this country, stand out. You will also find exhibitions on the national lifeguard corps, very important throughout the country since it has thousands of kilometers of coastline.

The exterior architecture is impressive, with a play of colored lights and a truly original design. Each space is organized and developed according to the history of the country but joining them all together, something undoubtedly fantastic and very striking. Here there are not only exhibitions but it is also the main cultural center of the city, and you will be able to see various cultural events such as the presentation of books, magazines or catalogs.

Without a doubt one of the most interesting places you can discover during your trip to Australia, especially if you are going to be in Canberra. The ideal is to be able to dedicate a whole day to it so that you can soak up all its culture and see everything with peace of mind. For my taste, it is the most beautiful building in the whole country along with the famous Sydney Opera House, undoubtedly one of the great Australian symbols.
