Qatar Airways has won the award for Best Airline in the World , for the second time, at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2012. The company has won this award but many others have won different awards including the best seats, the best lounges , etc. The awards ceremony took place at the Farnborough Airshow near London.
The first time that Qatar Airways was awarded the prize for the best airline in the world was in 2011. This time the award ceremony took place in Paris. The Doha-based airline, which also received the title of best regional airline in the Middle East, also won other awards such as best seat in Business Class .
The Skytrax Awards are one of the most important benchmarking tools for the airline industry. They measure passenger satisfaction levels by surveying travelers in all classes. The study is carried out over 10 months and is carried out by telephone among the 18 million airline customers in 100 countries.
The study includes 38 key performance indicators, such as check-in, boarding, seating comfort, cabin cleanliness, meals, beverages, in-flight entertainment and service. This year, the survey covered more than 200 airlines , international organizations and national companies. The best airlines in the world in 2012 are:
