How to cancel a Vueling flight

As you probably already know if you have flown on more than one occasion and have had problems with a flight, carrying out a cancellation is usually not easy, regardless of the airline from which you bought the ticket. In fact, sometimes even insurance does not guarantee the refund of the money, since it is usually returned only when a series of conditions such as sick leave occurs.

Vueling does not say anything about how to cancel a flight on its website. Not clearly, since you have to go to the « Frequently Asked Questions » section (located at the bottom of the page) and write «flight cancellation» to know how to proceed.

Cancellation due to Vueling’s fault

They will only compensate you financially if the flight has been canceled for reasons attributable to Vueling , in which case they will reimburse you "x" euros depending on the distance of the flight:

– Flights of less than 1,500 km: 250 euros
– Flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km: 400 euros
– Flights of more than 3,500 km: 600 euros

In case of cancellation, you can always choose an alternative transport with conditions comparable to those of flying or request a refund within 7 calendar days of the journey or routes not taken. You can also request a flight back to the first departure point.


Cancellation requested by the client

What if you are the one who wants to cancel the tickets? With the Basic and Optima rates, you will not have the right to cancel, although you can change the owner, the date and the time by paying a surcharge. With the Excellence fare, you can cancel your tickets as long as there are more than two hours before the flight departs. They refund the amount of the reservation without including the charge you pay for selecting PayPal or card as the payment method.
