The start of vaccination against covid-19 opens many avenues of hope to recover a certain normality, without lowering our guard, and enjoy a trip in 2021 . The options are numerous because the truth is that it is a coming year full of cultural events , which will take place in many parts of the world. So you have to have the passport and all the documentation in order and ready to link one destination with another. And where to go? Here are some of the main proposals .

Croatia

We make the first stop in Rijeka , in Croatia, because it will be the European Capital of Culture 2021 under the motto of ‘ Port of Diversity ‘. And it is that this city should have held this position this year but, with the covid-19, it has been delayed to 2021.

If there is no further change, the project includes about 1,000 individual programs , beginning with the opening on February 1 , 2021 and continuing until the end of February 2022.

Pop culture activities, alternative art, contemporary works … are some of the options of the program that will take place in this city where you can enjoy seven artistic projects called Flagships .

Ireland

Galway will also continue to be the European Capital of Culture with proposals for street shows, live art, music, dance or theater, which make up its program, which will be carried out under the motto ‘Let the magic in’ and is organized around to the chronological parameters of Celtic culture . Thus, it is distributed in Imbolc, Bealtaine, Lughnasa and Samhain.

Austria and Germany

And another inescapable cultural appointment will be Vienna because it commemorates the 250 years of Beethoven , who was born in Bonn (Germany), but chose this capital to work , apart from being the stage where most of his works were premiered.

Among the planned events, there is for example the exhibition of original manuscripts in the National Library and the acoustic installation with the latest technology so that people feel part of an orchestra in the Casa de la MĂşsica. Also, among other activities, there will be a smart audio guide in sunglasses, an initiative launched jointly by the Austrian National Tourist Office and the Vienna Tourist Office.

It is an anniversary that will also be celebrated in Germany until September next year. The main activity is #DiscoverBeethoven which is related to German destinations, visions and landscapes that influenced this great composer.

The Jubilee program has also been launched in Germany. On this occasion, the proposal delves into Beethoven’s views on society, its universal importance or the various political misappropriations. This initiative also pays attention to international understanding.

The commemoration of the anniversary of Beethoven are completed coin five exclusive euros minted by the Numismatic Office of the Vatican, which has the relief Joseph Karl Stieler made to the musician in 1820. On the other side of the coin, is the shield from the Vatican.

Egypt

The Grand Egyptian Museum is also scheduled to open in 2021, although the exact date has not yet been released. Inside, there will be more than 45,000 works of art of which about 25,000 have never been exhibited before. Great attraction and expectation cause the 5,000 pieces from Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Nor should we lose sight of the exterior of the museum because it is in an innovative building designed by the Heneghan Peng Architects studio, which stands out for its 800 meter long and 40 meter high facade, simulating a pyramid . In addition, the museum is located near the main Egyptian pyramids in a setting like no other.
