What to see and do in Reykjavik

Reykjavik-iceland-1
Reykjavik , the Icelandic capital, is one of the most spectacular European cities on a natural level, which makes it one of those places that you have to visit at least once in your life. A city in which nature is perfectly combined is so special with culture, gastronomy, architecture and other aspects that are of great importance in any city, especially if we are talking about a European capital.

If you’ve never considered traveling to Iceland , maybe now is the time, especially if you always go on vacation to the typical cities that everyone goes to (London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona…). In Reykjavik, then, see and do many different things, both in the city itself and in its surroundings. Take note of the most interesting things you can find there:

Harpa Concert Hall

It is a modern building where you can find various events and performances throughout the year. In addition, it has a cafeteria on the ground floor, which is also one of the busiest in the city even if you do not go to any play or concert. It is in the port.

Phallic Museum

Yes, I know, you may have been freaked out by the name, but it is logical that it is called that since the museum is entirely dedicated to penises and phallic culture. It is a very curious museum since in it you can learn very interesting things on a scientific level. You can find it on Laugavegi street.

Hallgrimskirkja

It is the largest cathedral in the country and has a very interesting attraction, which is that for only 2 euros you can climb to the highest part, 70 meters high. From there you will enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view of the city. If you like photography, from here you will take impressive photos.

Go out

Even if you are not very into partying and drinking, the truth is that when you visit a city you always want to check its nightlife, and Reykjavik is perfect for it. Any day of the week you will find a good atmosphere for drinks , especially on Saturdays, when all the pubs and clubs are at full capacity. It is important that you know that there people get ready to go out, it is not necessary to wear New Year’s Eve clothes but something more than a jeans and a basic T-shirt.
