The coast of Cádiz is known as the Costa de la Luz , probably because of that special light it has and that makes its sunsets reddish and spectacular. Almost 200 kilometers that are divided between the Atlantic and Mediterranean slopes and that are separated by the Strait of Gibraltar. The beaches of Cádiz, the city not the province, are of all kinds and for all tastes: very extensive or smaller, urban, rustic, dune, virgin … The sand is usually golden and fine in all of them and you can practice all kinds of water sports since some of them are very windy and with great waves, great for windsurfing, surfing or any other modality.
Here are the characteristics of the beaches of Cádiz :
– Playa de la Caleta : It is in the Viña neighborhood, next to the Castle of San Sebastián. It measures 450 meters, is urban, with calm waters and its occupation is high. Among all the services that you can find, in addition to the Spanish Center for Underwater Activities, you have showers, restaurants, beach bars, kiosks, train, bus, parking and many more.
– Playa de la Victoria : It is the most famous in the city and measures almost 3 kilometers. It has a promenade and its occupation is also high. Among its services you can find umbrellas, hammocks, kiosks, bus, showers, rental of nautical equipment and many more. There is also the Nautical Club. 
– Santa María del Mar beach : It measures 900 meters, it is urban and there strong wind. It also has a boardwalk and is urban. Among its services you can find a parking lot, showers, bus, kiosks, umbrellas, hammocks and restaurants.
– Cortadura Beach : It has an area of 2,500 meters and is somewhat isolated so its occupancy is low, ideal if you want a quiet day without many people around. It is surrounded by greenery and you have many services, such as showers, bus, parking, umbrellas, hammocks or kiosks.
– Playa del Chato : It measures 2,700 meters and is also isolated although with medium occupation. It is also surrounded by vegetation and there is usually wind. It has more or less the same services as the previous ones.
