Belgrade is the capital of the Republic of Serbia and the largest and most populous city in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The city located at the confluence of the Sava River with the Danube , is the economic engine of the country, with a unique agricultural sector, and the main center for the dissemination of Serbian culture.

Culture and sport

Citadel division

The citadel is divided into the Upper City and the Lower City . The two main entrances are the Stambol and Sahat gates.
