On many occasions I have told you about museums, specifically the most special in each city and also very important worldwide. Today I will also tell you about a museum, one that is also in a magical city that will turn your visit into something very special. It is the Cairo Museum , in Egypt , a unique museum with spectacular collections and exhibitions that you will not be able to see anywhere else.
It is a spectacular and classic-style museum in which its collections seem to come to life and tell you the story by themselves without the need to read or attend to any explanation. Everything you will see here you will not be able to see in any other museum in the world. You will be able to see a lot of objects of all kinds that are authentic old jewels and that in some cases were stolen and exhibited in other museums around the world but that little by little have been recovered.
It was founded in 1835 and preserves the most important historical heritage in the country. All the pieces are classified and exhibited in a European way, preserving their originality as much as possible so that no detail is lost with their exhibition. Currently there are about 140,000 exhibits , including mummies, coffins, hieroglyphs and treasures of all kinds and from different periods.
The museum is very close to the financial center of the city and the entrance costs 20 Egyptian pounds although if you bring a photo or video camera you have to pay a surcharge. There is also a bookstore with many very interesting publications and a shop where you can find replicas of many objects that are inside as well as various souvenirs.
