In northwestern France , in the region named Lorraine, lies the city of Nancy . With a population of over four hundred thousand inhabitants, this French city is the capital of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department of that region. More specifically, Nancy is located in the area of ​​the lower reaches of the Meurthe River and therefore close to the confluence of the latter with the Moselle River. This turns the city into a river port with two channels, the Marne-Rhine and the Paris-Nancy.
