The international hotel chain Marriott has launched a new game on Facebook, which allows users to navigate their own virtual hotel. The purpose of this initiative is to try to convince users that the Internet is not boring and attract them as new customers to their hotels . The game is very similar to the popular Farmville and Cityville. Players must progressively go through the different areas of their hotel. They can start in the kitchen where they can buy ingredients, meet the cooks and create their own menu for them. As with other Facebook games, players can earn points if customers are satisfied, but if they don’t like the service, players will lose those points.

It can be played in several languages : English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Mandarin. According to Marriott, online games are the second most popular activity on the web, so it is necessary for hotels to offer these services to both their customers and potential customers. The game may have some success but it is true that it faces stiff competition. Among its competitors , apart from those already mentioned, we can find:
