Called Costa Verde , the Asturian coastline hides paradisiacal beaches where, as its name suggests, the green of the mountains is part of the landscape. Torimbia beach
We want to start by talking about the beach of Torimbia, which is located in the municipality of Llanes. It is a rugged-looking beach of great beauty closed off by a cliff of more than 50 meters. Considered a nudist beach, it offers different types of services: surveillance, Red Cross post, cleaning, seasonal beach bar …
Silence Beach
In the council of Cudillero we find the beach of Silencio, also known as El Gavieiro, a sandy beach with pebbles in the shape of a shell that is protected by islets of different sizes and cliffs of great beauty. It is a practically virgin place, but it is usually very frequented, and that it does not have services.
Rodiles Beach
We also want to tell you about Rodiles beach, which belongs to the Villaviciosa council. Specifically, it is part of the Ría de Villaviciosa Natural Reserve. With more than a kilometer in length, the beach has an extensive wooded area and a wooden promenade, and offers magnificent conditions for the practice of some water sports, such as surfing.
Peñarronda Beach
Between the councils of Castropol and Tapia de Casariego, next to the town of Santa Gadea, is the beach of Peñarronda, which is divided by the stream of the same name. In the shape of an elongated shell, the sandy area stands out for its unique beauty. It is important to note that it is home to Malcomia littorea (sea wallflower), an endangered species. Like the previous one, it is also ideal for surfing.
Poo Beach
We return to the council of Llanes to tell you about Poo beach, which is classified as semi-natural. What is most surprising is that the sea cannot be seen from the beach, since it is inside a sea inlet. Here you will find a large number of services : showers, rescue stations, cleaning, restaurants …
Cuevas del Mar beach
A beach that could not be missing from the list is Cuevas del Mar, which is also located in the municipality of Llanes, specifically at the mouth of the Cuevas river. Considered a protected landscape for its vegetation and its geological characteristics, the beach is very touristy and in summer it usually has a high level of occupation.
Gulpiyuri Beach
Of course, we are also going to talk about Gulpiyuri beach which, like the previous ones, is also located in the municipality of Llanes. Declared a Natural Monument, it is part of the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Coast of Asturias, something that does not surprise us at all, since it is a true jewel of nature . And we are talking about a small sea beach that is located inland, surrounded by a magnificent landscape.
San Lorenzo Beach
Finally, we want to tell you about one of the best urban beaches in Asturias. We refer to San Lorenzo, which is located in the heart of Gijón, and extends for 1,550 meters, forming a shell. The best thing about this place is that it offers excellent equipment of all kinds, including two beach volleyball courts.
