We refer to the Over the Edge, an impressive swing that was inaugurated on August 26. As we have mentioned before, it is located on the edge of the A’DAM Toren, a building located in front of the Central Station and the EYE Film Institute.
The swing
You may have liked swings as a child, but getting on the new Dutch Over the Edge has nothing to do with a children’s game, although it is true that there are some children who have dared to ride. Without a doubt, these are tremendously brave people. And, as we have mentioned before, this slide is located 100 meters high. In fact, it is considered the highest swing on the planet. Of course, if you plan to visit Amsterdam soon and fear cannot, we recommend that you try it, since the swing allows you to contemplate wonderful views of the city.
The swing consists of four seats secured with bindings and is powered by a hydraulic motor. As you may have imagined, riding on it is not free. In fact, adults must pay 12.50 euros, while the price for children is 6.50 euros.
The looker
Even if you are not going to get on the slide, we recommend that you visit the A’DAM Lookout viewpoint. It is an observation deck that offers unrivaled panoramic views of Amsterdam.
