Travel to Oaxaca

oaxaca
Oaxaca is one of the three adjacent valleys of Mexico, surrounded by the majestic Sierra Madre del Sur. It is bordered by Chiapas to the east, Veracruz and Puebla to the north, and Guerrero to the west. You will not be able to miss the southern part of the state as you will discover the 509 kilometers of coastline that run through it. In Oaxaca you can find everything: ruins, colonial cities, beaches, crafts and magnificent landscapes.

The city will allow you to visit endless restaurants where you can taste the tastiest food you will find in Mexico. Think of foods with cheese, empanadas, tamales, soups and if what you prefer is sweet, you should not leave without trying the rich hot chocolate. When you decide to have a shopping day, you should visit the surrounding towns , since you can buy very typical handicrafts of the country.

Enjoy some good excursions along the coast and do not forget to visit the impressive ruins of Monte Albán. The ruins that you will find belong to the constructions that the Zapotecs made there. Be prepared for long trips, so don’t think that on a four-day trip you will see everything. For example: traveling by car from the city to Puerto Escondido will take you a minimum of seven hours.

Bus tickets and car rentals can usually be arranged at the last minute, and unless you are visiting when the town’s festivities are taking place, staying anywhere is not difficult at all.
