On several occasions we have written in Vuela Viajes about National Parks, undoubtedly spectacular places that are worth visiting if they are in the area where you are going to spend your holidays. In fact, some of these natural corners are so worthwhile that you can organize your trip based on wanting to visit it, thus making a route to see the most interesting things that are in its vicinity.

Today I would like to write about the Triglav National Park , one of the great attractions that you can find in Slovenia . It is one of the most famous natural destinations in the country, chosen especially by lovers of outdoor activities. Every year, more than 2 million people decide to visit it, and it is named after Mount Triglav, the national symbol.

The park

This park occupies almost the entire Slovenian part of the Julian Alps , bordering Austria and Italy in the north and west. One of the most attractive parts is the Garganta de Vintgar walkway, which dates back to the early 19th century. There is also Lake Bohinj , spectacular thanks to being practically surrounded by the Julian Alps. Another must-see is the Pokljuka ravine, a formation engraved in limestone. The Savica waterfall and the Pericnik waterfall are two of its great beauties, in addition to the Kluze Fortress.

If you like climbing , Triglav National Park is the perfect place to practice it. Climbing Mount Triglav is very simple and does not take more than a day, being a route suitable even for novices. If you prefer to be more comfortable, the Vogel cable car will take you to enjoy the most spectacular views of the park. If you want to enjoy some of the customs of the area, at the Bal Kravji Festival you will see the cattle returning to the pastures to the rhythm of music and with all kinds of food and drinks.
