Italy has a lot of cities where you can get to know so many places and do so many things that it becomes the ideal destination to enjoy a perfect combination of cultural, relaxing, shopping, historical and even religious travel. One of the most visited Italian cities is Florence , the birthplace of illustrious people such as Michelangelo, Donatello or Da Vinci.

In the medieval part of the city you can find authentic wonders both in monuments and buildings, such as the Uffizi Gallery , a must-see place especially if you like art. In fact, even if you don’t like it very much, you should stop by as there are really spectacular works with a high historical value.

The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most important galleries in the world thanks to the fact that some of the most beautiful and important works in history are exhibited there, especially those that belong to the Renaissance. Artists such as DĂĽrer, Bellini, Michelangelo , Rubens or Rembrandt have some of their most famous works exhibited here. It also houses some of the oldest art collections in the world.

Built in the 16th century, it was not until the 18th century that it was opened to the public. Some of the pieces of art that belonged to the Medici family were kept in its building for many years, but when there were no more members of the family, the Gallery was opened to prevent the works from being taken to Vienna. In fact, there were so many works that they had to be distributed in some museums and in the Barguello Museum there are also many sculptures.

Undoubtedly one of the most interesting places in Florence where it is worth spending a whole day since you will not only enjoy seeing the works but you will also learn a lot about all the history of art and the city.
