What to see in Santander

What-to-see-in-Santander
Spain is a country with beautiful cities, and the north of our country has a spectacular beauty that falls in love with all those who visit it. With a mixture of sea and mountains, there are cities that are an incredible mix that only nature can achieve. One of these cities is Santander , a very quiet, elegant and beautiful place where the entire city is built around its beaches and bays , which leave a unique landscape.

With many monuments of great interest and beauty, social life is centralized in the port area and the beaches. At the Salmerón Pier is La Grúa de Piedra, one of the symbols of the city and which was built in 1900. There you can also find the Embarcadero Palace , which is where the boats leave for other cities and where they also you can catch one that takes you for a walk around the bay. As for the beaches, the most famous in the city is undoubtedly the Sardinero beach , beautiful and where there are plenty of restaurants and terraces so that you can enjoy the landscape any day of the year.

As for historical places, I would stick with the Palacio de la Magdalena , which is where the University is. A spectacular site that has 25 hectares of forest and where you can see many places of interest such as the Faro de la Cerda, the Children’s Park, the Monument to Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente or the beach of the bikinis. In Santander there are also other beautiful places such as the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, the Casino del Sardinero or the Convent of Santa Cruz. Being such a cultural city it has, of course, several museums, of which I would highlight the Menéndez Pelayo House-Museum, the Cantabrian Maritime Museum , the Planetarium or the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts.
