The world of aviation can change to radically lower costs. A Chinese airline called Spring Airlines , is studying the possibility of manufacturing airplanes in which passengers can travel standing up , with the consequent space savings that this would entail.
Saving space would mean that more passengers could get on the same plane, which would logically have an impact on the final price of the tickets , which is much cheaper. Costs for the company would be reduced by 20% and the plane would accommodate 40% more passengers.
At first, customers may be seated on a small stool or standing , as preferred. In addition, they will wear a belt tied around the waist as a security measure.
Logically, for a long trip this can be torture . A person cannot travel for 10 or 12 hours sitting on a stool, much less standing. It is certainly an animated one that could only be proclaimed from China . They want planes to turn into the Shanghai subway at rush hour, treating people like sardines. I think this "brilliant" idea will not get very far, or at least here in Europe people will not be able to make it their own (airline owners may be).
