The year is ending and it is time to begin to summarize the best of each sector. As far as travel is concerned, today I would like to write about the European cities that received the most visitors this year, which are currently the most famous and receive millions of tourists every year. With the current economic crisis, you can no longer travel as much, and if you do, you opt for European countries since they are closer than others such as the United States or Mexico, also among the top positions in world tourism.
If you are preparing your vacation for next year or a small getaway in the little that remains of this, you should take a look at these cities to visit any of them since they are all spectacular and have a lot to offer any tourist.
Athens
The Greek capital has gained a lot of tourism in recent years, especially thanks to its spectacular monuments and the fashion of cruising the Greek islands, giving many of them the opportunity to visit Athens. Wonders such as the Parthenon , the Acropolis or the Temple of Poseidon are must-sees in this city.
Berlin
The German capital has won in an amazing way the honor of being among the best cities in Europe thanks to how well cared for it is and to the innumerable leisure, tourism and cultural offers it has for all its visitors. Places like the Brandenburg Gate or the Museum Island are to blame for this city growing in visitors dramatically every year.
Istanbul
The Turkish capital is, in addition to being beautiful, one of the cheapest large European capitals, so it is a great idea to travel there. Its main attractions are the SĂĽleymaniye Mosque or the Archaeological Museum, in addition to its famous Grand Bazaar.
Vienna
It is one of my favorite cities thanks to the magic that it gives off in every corner, especially in its natural places and in its palaces, all of them very important in the history of Austria. The Schönbrunn Palace or the Tiergarten Zoo are just some of the wonders that you can find there.
Amsterdam
Another of the European cities that grows the most every year and which has been a World Heritage Site since 2010. It is a very cultural city with a great variety of museums and interesting places, such as the Red Light District, the Old Canal or the Rijksmuseum.
Barcelona
It is the only Spanish city on the list and the only one that is not the capital of a country, thanks in part to its great historical and cultural content. In it you will find a lot of museums that are of great interest, as well as a very rich diversity in each of its neighborhoods.
Paris
A classic that is not lacking in the lists of each year, and that is undoubtedly Paris is not only one of the most visited cities in Europe but also in the whole world. The Eiffel Tower , the Louvre Museum, Eurodisney, the River Seine … countless places to visit over and over again, because every time you do it, you discover something new.
Rome
The Italian capital is one of the oldest cities in the world, which makes it always one of the most visited. The most striking thing about this city are its monuments that have become relics over time, such as the famous Colosseum or the Vatican. A city that you have to visit at least once in your life.
London
The English capital has been the most visited city in Europe for several years, and its countless attractions make you come back again and again since you always have something to see. The Thames, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace or the famous Big Ben are places that you never tire of visiting and photographing no matter how many times you do.
