Monfragüe National Park

First of all, we want to talk about the Monfragüe National Park, one of the 15 national parks in Spain. Located in the province of Cáceres, this natural corner is crossed by two rivers: the Tagus and the Tiétar. This place is a true paradise for lovers of ornithology . The population of griffon vultures is surprising, although there are many species that can be seen: black storks, Egyptian vultures, imperial eagles, black vultures …

Cornalvo Natural Park

Another place worth visiting is the Cornalvo Natural Park, where you can discover Roman vestiges, native biodiversity , Mediterranean vegetation … The dam built over the Albarregas river by the Romans stands out, which is preserved in excellent condition. We also want to talk about the International Tagus Natural Park, a name given to two protected natural spaces with identical characteristics but with different management.
