Monasterio de Piedra Natural Park in Zaragoza

In our country we have a lot of spectacular places that are worth visiting, especially the natural places that are classified as Natural Park. Unique corners with a special magic, like the place I will write about now: the Monasterio de Piedra Natural Park , which is in the province of Zaragoza. It is one of the most incredible landscapes in our country and it is in the small town of Nuévalos .

The landscape offered by this Natural Park is truly spectacular, especially the Monasterio de Piedra, which is the main protagonist of this landscape. It is a temple that began to be built at the end of the 12th century by order of the monks of the Cistercian Order, who came from Tarragona. If you are going to be in the area, it is practically a must that you visit this Monastery.


The monastery

In the Monastery of Piedra you will be able to discover perfectly how monastic life was at the time, and also how it was in medieval times. Inside there are several rooms in which it is explained what was done in each one of them, thus learning everything about its history. The monastery is open throughout the year and admission costs 8 euros, with discounts for children, youth and seniors. Also, you can stay there.

The Natural Park

As for the natural wonder that surrounds the monastery, you can enjoy admiring caves, cliffs , forests and all kinds of natural beauties. In the different areas there are several information panels that will explain in detail what you can see, especially in terms of flora and fauna. In addition, there is a flight display with birds of prey that is very interesting.

Among the most spectacular places are the Chorreaderos Waterfall , the Iris Grotto, the Mirror Lake, Diana’s Bath, the Cola de Caballo Viewpoint or the Peña del Diablo. The entrance to the park costs 13 euros, and there are also special rates for children, young people or the elderly.
