We are already in the middle of winter, which means that the snow and ski season is in full swing. In our country there are many places where you can enjoy this sport that more and more people fall in love with, thanks not only to its practice but also to the excellent landscapes that surround any place where you can practice it. In total, in Spain we have 34 ski resorts, undoubtedly a lot to choose from.
One of the most famous and busiest resorts is Formigal , which has more than 100 slopes and almost 150 kilometers of skiable snow, being the perfect destination for skiers of any level and for the whole family. In addition, the tracks are complemented by various activities that you can do in the middle of Nature, such as various hiking, horseback riding or cycling routes.
Location
Formigal is a station that is in Sallent de Gállego , in the province of Huesca. It is a few kilometers from the French border in the center of the Aragonese Pyrenees, which is a destination point every winter for thousands of tourists who love snow sports.
Characteristics
In the Formigal resort you will find exactly 137 kilometers of skiable slopes, and the big difference with other resorts is that you have the possibility of skiing at night on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of holidays. There are family areas that are very well signposted and even nurseries so that the little ones can be entertained while their parents go skiing. There is also a snow park with various games and a small school for children to learn to practice this sport.
Snow school
There is also a school that has been in operation for almost 40 years and in which more than 90 teachers are qualified in different modalities of snow sports to be able to offer courses of all of them and at all levels. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, carving, snowboarding… you can learn all of them there, and the classes are for both individuals and groups. The school is in the Anayet and Cantal areas.
