The most beautiful towns in Albacete

As we have already shown you on numerous occasions, Castilla-La Mancha has many things to offer the traveler. Located in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, it is considered the third largest autonomous community in the country, although that is not what interests us most, but its more than 320,000 hectares of natural landscapes that fill the entire region with fresh air, for not to mention the literary route of Don Quixote, which for many is its great attraction.

As the other day we already showed you the most beautiful towns in Ciudad Real, today we want to move to another province of La Mancha. We are referring to Albacete, which also hides places of great beauty and a lot of tourist interest. Alcalá del Júcar

First of all, we want to talk about Alcalá del Júcar, one of the most picturesque towns in Albacete. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site, the town stands out for its location, since it is excavated in the mountain. You can find white houses with popular architecture, narrow and steep streets and an impressive Islamic fortress, as well as the Devil’s Caves and an irregularly shaped bullring.

Ayna

For her part, Ayna is located in the Sierra del Segura, in the narrow canyon of the Mundo river and is known as “La Suiza La Mancha”. Of the town, the Ribera del Mundo, the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, the Church of Santa María de lo Alto, the Remains of the Castillo de la Yedra, the Rincón de la Toba, the Royo Odrea, the village of Carcabos and the Mirador del Diablo.

Liétor is located 61 kilometers from the city of Albacete, a town that stands out above all for its location, in the Mundo river valley, where pre-Roman settlements have been found. Here it is possible to find a rich cultural heritage , highlighting the church of Santiago Apóstol.

Finally, knowing that we are leaving beautiful villages in the pipeline, we want to talk about Letur, a municipality known as the pearl of the Sierra del Segura. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site, it stands out for having the best preserved medieval layout of Arab origin in all of Albacete.
