The most beautiful towns in Alicante

Altea
When this time of year arrives, many are the Spaniards from the center of the peninsula who pack their bags and move to the province of Alicante to enjoy the so-called Costa Blanca, a coastal area characterized by its typically Mediterranean landscape with beaches interspersed with mountainous terrain. Of course, it is important to bear in mind that beyond its coastal towns where modernity and tradition converge, in the interior of the province it is also possible to find beautiful corners with a rich artistic and cultural heritage.

Today at Vuela Viajes we move to Alicante to discover some of the most beautiful towns that can be found both on the coast and in the interior of the province. Of course, first we want to apologize for all those who, even deserving it, have not entered our list. Would you like to join us?

Altea

Altea1
First of all, we want to talk about Altea, one of the best known towns in the province. Sitting on a hill, it surprises with its old town, dominated by the parish church. You will also love the lower part, with the port , the fishing district, its six kilometers of beaches and the promenade.

Guadalest

Guadalest
Between the Aitana and Xortá mountains is Guadalest, whose historic center has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. The castle of San José stands out, a Muslim fortress which is accessed through a natural tunnel in the rock. As for the castle, called La Alcozaina, it only conserves one tower.

Finestrat

Finestrat
A town that could not be missing from the list is Finestrat, which is located on a hill between the sea and the mountains. In this place you will not only find 267 meters of coastline, but also narrow streets and houses from the Muslim era. Among its most notable places of interest are the church of Sant Bartomeu, the tower and the hermitage of Santísimo Cristo del Remedio.

Javea

Javea
We continue our tour of the province of Alicante in Jávea, one of the most important tourist destinations on the Costa Blanca. Beyond its 20 kilometers of beaches and coves, the town offers a beautiful old town that hides beautiful samples of local architecture and famous monuments. Its more touristy side is seen in the port area.

Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa
Another town that could not be missing from the list is Villajoyosa, also known as La Villa. Here you will find a beautiful walled historic center and a colorful coastline that surprises with its houses with colorful facades, which were painted in this way so that sailors could locate them from the boats.

Villena

Villena
We also want to tell you about Villena, a town located in the Sierra de Salinas. It is a municipality with a great history that houses places of interest such as the Atalaya castle, from which the historic nucleus develops, with its narrow and white streets and its two Gothic churches: the archpriest of Santiago and that of Santa Maria.

Denia

Denia
Another of the towns in Alicante that is worth visiting is Denia, whose port is one of the most attractive on the Spanish coast. We also want to highlight its castle , which houses the Archaeological Museum, as well as the Church of the Assumption, the Town Hall, Avenida de Marqués de Campo and the fishermen’s neighborhood.

Petrer

Petrer
Finally, we want to talk to you about Petrer, a town located in the interior of the province that hides important monuments, such as its castle-fortress from the 12th-13th century, the cave-houses built on the wall, the church of San Bartolomé, the Arch del Castillo and the Aqueduct of San Rafael. Would you like to suggest another town in the province of Alicante?
