Besalu
We have to admit it! At Vuela Viajes we have a predilection for the Costa Brava! And not only because it houses dreamy beaches and coves, but because it hides really wonderful towns. Of course, also in the interior of the province of Girona you can find charming towns.

What we are going to do today at Vuela Viajes is to show you what, from our humble opinion, are the most beautiful towns in this beautiful province of Catalonia. Would you like to join us? We assure you that you will not regret it!

We are going to begin our tour of the most beautiful towns in the province of Girona in Besalú, a beautiful medieval town that will make you fall in love as soon as you step on the bridge that takes you to the fortress. We offer you more details about this wonderful place in our article “Besalú, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Spain”.

Castellfollit de la Roca

Castellfollit de la Roca
Another town that you cannot miss if you live near Girona or have the opportunity to visit this province is Castellfollit de la Roca. Located at the top of a basalt wall of about 50 meters, it offers a beautiful urban area, made up of squares and narrow streets. Of course, we don’t want to forget about the magnificent views of the valley and the Fluviá and Toronell rivers. In our article “Castellfollit, a spectacular town in Catalonia” we offer you more details about this incredible town.

Cadaques

Cadaques
From the interior of Girona we moved to the coast. And the Costa Brava is full of places that are worth visiting. One of them is Cadaqués, a picturesque town known throughout the world for being the place where Dalí lived. Located in the heart of Cap de Creus, it offers a rocky coastline with beautiful beaches and coves and a beautiful old town where you can breathe a seafaring flavor.

Beget

Beget
We also want to tell you about Beget, a town located in the Girona Pyrenees . Its well-preserved stone houses with wooden balconies stand out, as well as its Catalan Romanesque works, such as the Sant Cristófol de Beget chapel.

Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar
We return to the Costa Brava to tell you about Tossa de Mar, an old fishing village that has an important historical legacy. In fact, its Vila Vella is declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument. It preserves almost the entire walled perimeter and from the top of the wall you get fantastic views of the bay.

Peratallada

Peratallada
Another town that cannot be missing from the list is Peratallada. Located in the Baix Empurdá, this town houses one of the best ensembles of medieval architecture in Empurdá. Its castle-fortress, the palace and the walls stand out, which are preserved in an enviable state. Perhaps the most beautiful of all its buildings is the Romanesque church of Sant Esteve.

Pals

Pals
Another medieval town that is perfectly preserved is Pals. In fact, its historic center has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. The Gothic Quarter stands out, where you can find beautiful cobbled streets with noble houses. Another of the attractions of this town is that they are very close to the Costa Brava which, as we have already mentioned, is one of our favorites. In addition, if you have the opportunity to visit this town, you will not be able to stop trying its exquisite cuisine.

Begur

Begur
Finally, we want to talk about another of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Brava. We refer to Begur, a town that, located in the heart of the Empordá, offers a beautiful landscape of hills and beaches bathed by the Mediterranean. Of course, it is also worth visiting its old town, where you can find many historical monuments.
