Llanes
First of all, we want to tell you about Llanes, a medieval and maritime town that can boast of having some of the best beaches in all of northern Spain, not to mention the spectacular landscapes it offers. In addition, you must not forget its old town, declared a Historic-Artistic site. The only bad thing about Llanes is that it is a very touristy place and in summer, which is when most of us have vacations, it fills up to the brim. If you can, we recommend that you visit this town at another time of year.
Cangas de Onís
From Llanes we go to Cangas de Onís, an obligatory stop for all who visit the sanctuary of Covadonga or the Picos de Europa. Of this beautiful place, the Roman bridge located over the Sella River stands out, which is in perfect condition. In addition, you will love the hermitage of Santa Cruz, the market in the center of town and the Pintu Palace.
The three
We return to the coast to tell you about another of the most beautiful fishing villages in Asturias. We refer to Lastres, a town that is characterized, in addition to its spectacular cliffs , by its steep and narrow cobbled streets. As you can imagine, it became a more touristy place after serving as the setting for the Antena 3 series "Doctor Mateo", where the town was baptized with the name of San Martín de la Sella.
Ribadesella
Nor could Ribadesella be missing from our list, a town inhabited since prehistoric times where you will find tranquility and a lot of history. Of course, great parties are held for the Descent of the Sella. In addition to the river mouth, if you visit this place we recommend that you drop by the Tito Bustillo caves, where you will find real works of rock art; the historic center, which is full of palaces; and the mansions that the Indians had built facing the sea.
Cudillero
In Cudillero, its spectacular natural environment, its people and customs stand out, as well as its streets of crowded houses, which are painted in different colors.
Taramundi
Nor could Taramundi be missing from our list, a town that is in the middle of nature and that has remained intact throughout the centuries. Its houses with slate roofs and its offer of rural tourism stand out.
Luarca
Of course, we also want to tell you about Luarca, the town where Severo Ochoa was born. One of the essential visits is to the cemetery, which in addition to being one of the most beautiful in the world, has spectacular views of the sea. Among many other corners, we recommend that you drop by the palace of the Marqueses de Ferrera, the Cambaral, the Casa de Guatemala and the fishing district of La Pescadería.
Port of Vega
We also want to tell you about the picturesque town of Puerto de Vega, which is characterized by its clean and lucid white houses. In addition, as in many other fishing villages, it has a small fishing port and narrow streets. We also want to show you Tazones, another fishing village that has cobbled streets and colorful houses with a lot of charm. Of course, it is a very small town, with about 250 inhabitants.
