In recent years, tourism has become one of the key parts of Huesca , something that is not surprising if we consider that in this province we can enjoy the essence of the culture and traditions of Aragon, an incredible landscape , of numerous adventure sports and villages of immense beauty.
There are many towns that are worth visiting in Huesca, but since it is very difficult to visit them all, today at Vuela Viajes we are going to make a selection of those that, for us, are the most beautiful. Would you like to join us?
Alquézar
We are going to start our tour of the most beautiful villages of Huesca in Alquézar, a small town surrounded by a spectacular landscape. At the top of the town is the Collegiate Church , a Muslim fortress built in the 9th century that remains practically intact. In Alquézar you will have the possibility of reliving the medieval past, discovering places such as the Gothic gate, the Plaza Mayor, mills, bridges and dams.
Aínsa
The next town on our list is Aínsa, a town declared a Historic-Artistic Site where you will discover a beautiful uniform old town full of houses. In addition to preserving the walls practically intact, the town maintains ancient monuments, such as the Collegiate Church, the Romanesque church of Santa María or the citadel.
Ansó
We also want to tell you about Ansó, a town that is considered the capital of the Ansó Valley. Located at 860 meters of altitude, it is made up of stone houses with characteristic facades and chimneys and cobbled streets. Of all the corners that are worth visiting in this beautiful place in Huesca, we highlight the church, which dominates the roofs of Ansó. It is important that you bear in mind that the Ethnological Museum is located in the parish offices, a must-see.
Loarre
Another beautiful town in Huesca is Loarre, which is located next to the mountain range that bears the same name. The municipality is located at the foot of an imposing castle , which has been very important in the history of the town and has belonged to different owners and ethnic groups. Of course, this is not the only building worth visiting in town. Among others, the old town hall and its parish church stand out.
Riglos
Located in the La Hoya region, Riglos stands out for the beauty of its landscape. Of course, the majestic Mallos de Riglos stand out. In addition, it must be borne in mind that here you can do a lot of adventure sports , with climbing being the main activity. On the other hand, it is an ideal place to observe birds.
Torla
Another town that cannot be missing from the list is Torla, which has preserved a rich history and unique heritage. Framed in a spectacular natural landscape, the town has an old town with medieval roots that is kept in perfect condition. Here you can see authentic jewels of Alto Aragonese architecture, such as the Casón de los Viu, a 14th-century palace.
Benasque
We also want to tell you about Banasque, a place steeped in history and surrounded by a spectacular landscape. Located in the upper part of the Ésera river, the town offers an urban area of enormous beauty, with narrow and cobbled streets, and stone houses that are clustered around the Romanesque church from the 13th century. The palace of the Counts of Ribagorza and the Casa Juste stand out.
Anciles
Finally, we want to talk about Anciles, a small and beautiful town with very few inhabitants where you will find manor houses of great architectural value, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as a 16th century parish church.
