Drogo Castle is officially the most modern in England, which is due to the fact that it was built in the early 20th century. A castle that does not reach 100 years of history but that also has a lot to tell and, above all, it is spectacular like any other. The creator of this castle was Julius Drewe , who laid the first stone in 1911 but who several years before began to buy the land in the area to be able to get a good land on which to build this fortress and thus settle his family. After World War I some renovations had to be done, but still the castle is really spectacular.
His story
In its original construction, the Drogo Castle had medieval style and very thick walls, highlighting the straight lines in its decoration. It took almost 30 years to build, which gives an idea of ​​the great amount of details that were taken care of to make it a perfect fortress. After the death of Mr. Drewe, his wife and son continued to live in it, and after a bombing in London it served as an orphanage for the most needy children.
