Greece eliminates its airport charges

The Government of Greece has just announced that it will eliminate take-off and landing fees at all its regional airports with the exception of Athens . The measure is aimed at encouraging tourism in times of crisis and will only apply until September.

Logically, most of the air traffic of the Hellenic country takes place in the international airport of the capital. However, with this significant reduction in ticket prices thanks to the elimination of fees, many low cost companies will manage to sell tourist packages destined to go to other airports in the area. Hopefully that will soon be reflected in the price of the tickets.
