easyJet
An illness, a last-minute job, a meeting that cannot be postponed, a personal matter of great importance … There are many reasons that can derail that trip or getaway that you have been planning for so long. Canceling a hotel reservation is not usually very complicated, but if you had also bought the plane ticket, it may not be so easy to get your money back. Cancellation policy within 24 hours

The first thing we want to comment on is that easyJet does not accept the possibility of reimbursement. Of course, in exceptional circumstances, the airline offers a refund in the form of a voucher so that you can travel on a future occasion. In addition, it has a cancellation policy within 24 hours.

If you cancel the entire reservation of an easyJet flight within 24 hours of making it, the company will refund the entire amount, including any taxes that have been applied. Of course, what they will not return are the management fees. After 24 hours, the airline no longer refunds reservations, unless there are some special circumstances. If you want to cancel your flight reservation during the first 24 hours, you will have to contact customer service.

Cancellations at another time

As we just mentioned, easyJet does not offer refunds if 24 hours have passed since the ticket was booked. Of course, if you cannot travel for medical reasons, your travel insurance may take care of the costs. Thus, you will have to contact them to agree on the refund options. What the airline does propose is to change the flight to another date or destination, although additional fees and charges may apply.

In exceptional cases

It is important to note that the airline can accept reimbursements in the event of the death of a family member. Of course, you should know that the decision to offer a refund or a voucher to fly is made by the customer service team. In addition, this decision will only be considered in the case of a direct relative: spouse, children, parents, grandparents or siblings.

In the event of the death of a relative, if the travel date has passed and the reservation has not been used, you will have to send a scanned copy of the death certificate. The customer service team can also offer refunds or a flight voucher should you need to cancel a flight due to a diagnosis of a serious or terminal illness .

Another alternative

If you cannot or do not want to travel on the date or time reserved or simply want to change the destination, you can also go to "Manage reservations", select your flight and choose the option "Change flight". The company also allows you to do that through the mobile application . It’s easier and cheaper to make these changes online. And it is that, logically, some charges will apply to you.

To modify your flight details, you will need the email address and password that you used to make the original reservation. Through "Manage reservations" you can also modify names, correct spelling errors, change or add seats, add checked luggage and sports equipment, and increase the weight limit.
