That summer is ending does not mean that we have to forget about the beaches. In fact, if you have the holidays in September you will still be able to enjoy the sea in many areas of the Mediterranean, such as, for example, on the French island of Corsica , known in France as the “Island of beauty”.
Corsica is not only one of the most mountainous islands in the entire Mediterranean Sea, with peaks that exceed 2,000 meters in height, but it also has a unique natural heritage of forests, vineyards, spectacular beaches … So much so that many of these riches They have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO . The best of all, yes, is that it is committed to sustainable tourism, avoiding the large hotel chains and the large block buildings that we are so used to seeing in many areas of the Spanish coast. Rondinara
The first on our list is the Rondinara beach, considered by many to be one of the best beaches in all of Europe. As you can see in the image, it is a bay with a horseshoe shape, shallow turquoise waters, and white sands. Of course, one of the things that is most surprising is the presence of cows, although it must be borne in mind that they are totally harmless.
Saleccia
On another beach where cows can be seen is in Saleccia. Surrounded by an Alepian pine forest , this kilometer-long and difficult-to-access beach has extremely soft white sand and crystal clear waters.
Palombaggia
Another spectacular beach that you can find in Corsica is Palombaggia, located in Porto Vecchio , in front of the Cerbicales islands. You will be surprised by its orange rocks, and the pine trees that will serve as an umbrella. Of course, its waters are really crystal clear, so as soon as you step on the beach, you will feel like taking a dip.
Santa Giulia
Also in Porto Vecchio is the beach of Santa Giulia, which captivates with its fine white sand and its impressive blue guides. It is an ideal sandy area for families , since there is a marked area so that children can bathe in complete safety. In addition, it is a shallow beach. In Santa Giulia you can practice water sports such as kayaking or sailing.
Calvi
We cannot forget the beach in the city of Calvi, where there are many bars and restaurants with terraces where you can enjoy beautiful views . And the city is made up of colored hills and olive and lemon groves. The beach, about four kilometers long, has clean sand and waters that invite you to relax.
Cupabia
Another beach we want to talk to you about is Cupabia, one of the best to take a dip. It has fine white sand and its waters are as transparent and shallow as those of most of the island. Being a bit isolated, it does not have many services but, without a doubt, it is worth spending a day here.
Lotus
Finally, we want to talk about the Loto beach, which has all the ingredients of a paradisiacal beach: clean turquoise blue waters, a large expanse of white sand, background vegetation … In addition, being protected and inaccessible by car , maintains that wild air that we like so much. To get there you will need about 2 hours of walking or a boat trip. Don’t be scared if you come across cows lounging in the sun.
