There is little more than a month until Christmas and many places are already beginning to "dress" in a special way for these dates, undoubtedly one of the most special times of the year. Christmas is also a good time to travel and thus be able to discover the traditions that for this time are in other parts of the world or even in your own country but in cities different from yours.
One of the things that attracts the most attention on these dates in any city are its Christmas markets , in which you can find really interesting things in a totally special environment. Today I would like to write about some of the best of these markets that you can find in our country, specifically about the best in a city as touristic and beautiful as Barcelona .
Christmas markets in Barcelona
– Fira de Nadal : it is a Christmas fair that starts in the first week of December and which houses the most famous market in the city. Almost all its stalls are dedicated to Christmas, especially to decorative elements, trees, mistletoe, etc. It is in the surroundings of the Sagrada Familia gardens.
– Fira de Santa LlĂşcia : it is another Christmas fair and opens from the last week of November until December 22. It is right in front of the cathedral and throughout the square you can find, in addition to stalls that sell Christmas things, several Christmas figures that represent various images. Some of the most striking stalls are those that sell figures for the Nativity scene carved by hand.
– Col.lectiu d’Artesans de l’AlimentaciĂł : this market is open throughout the year but it has many more stalls and things for sale during the Christmas season. It is in a square near the popular Church of Santa MarĂa del Pi and has about 20 stalls. In them you can find not only Christmas products but also local products such as cheeses, chocolates, honeys, herbs, pâtĂ©s, cakes and even wines. It is the perfect place to taste the best products of Catalan gastronomy, with special attention to the typical Christmas ones.
