Madrid’s Puerta del Sol is one of the most famous places in our country. A place that everyone who travels to Madrid visits and that is in an environment in which there are a lot of shops, monuments, hotels, bars and many entertainment venues. In addition, it becomes the center of attention throughout Spain every December 31, when it is time to change the year and thousands of people travel there to drink the traditional grapes.
The Puerta del Sol is right at the so-called "kilometer 0" , which is the place where we say the city starts on all sides. It has a beautiful clock that is the one that "sings" the chimes in a special way on New Year’s Eve. Here you can see the old Post Office building, a beautiful building with a high historical and architectural content. Practically at its feet is the famous statue of "The Bear and the Strawberry Tree" , a place where everyone takes a photo.
Another interesting monument is the statue of Carlos III , who was known as "The Mayor King." La Puerta del Sol is the perfect place to start your tour of the city center since in that area you will find a lot of interesting things and you can do a walking route that will be very entertaining. In a couple of minutes you will arrive at the Plaza Mayor, the most famous square in the city.
