It is clear that one of the essential places to visit if you travel to Milan is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Luxury is the main protagonist of a place where, by magic, among the great fashion brands we find the most luxurious McDonald’s in the world. Well, now the restaurant changes its location. After more than 20 years in the mall, McDonald’s is being displaced from its location by Prada.

The American firm assures that the fashion brand has played dirty and that it has managed to be unfairly prevented from renewing its contract at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, located in the picturesque center of the city. The famous shopping center , which connects the Duomo Cathedral and the internationally renowned ‘La Scala’ Opera, is also home to luxury goods stores such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Stefanel.

McDonald’s has filed a lawsuit against the city, demanding twenty-four million euros in damages after the contract for the rental of the space was changed without requiring the tenant. It is clear that, apparently, we are going to stop seeing the well-known hamburger restaurant in the shopping center, and that it had become a mandatory stop to take a curious photo in Milan.

Roberto Masi, CEO of McDonald’s in Italy, explained that he is not going to face the city harshly, but they must admit that he has unfairly fired them. Spokesmen for the competent authorities have denied that the city has done anything unfair.
